Estero
Estero is a village between Bonita Springs and Fort Myers, incorporated in 2014 and built largely around master-planned communities — with Coconut Point and Miromar Outlets shopping, Hertz Arena, and Florida Gulf Coast University nearby.
The vibe
Estero is newer, amenity-rich, and convenient. Gated golf and lake communities dominate, shopping and dining are close at hand, and I-75 and the airport are an easy drive — a popular pick for buyers who want newer construction and low-maintenance living.

Frequently asked questions
- What is Estero known for?
- Estero is known for its master-planned communities and its shopping and entertainment — Coconut Point, Miromar Outlets, and Hertz Arena — plus its convenient location between Fort Myers and Bonita Springs near FGCU and I-75.
- What is a CDD fee, and will I pay one in Estero?
- Some newer Florida communities were built using a Community Development District (CDD), which funds roads, utilities and amenities through an assessment that typically shows up on the property tax bill. Not every Estero community has one, and they vary, so I check whether a home carries a CDD, alongside its HOA and any club fees, before you make an offer.
- How far is Estero from the beach?
- Estero is inland, but Fort Myers Beach, Lovers Key and Bonita's beaches are all a reasonable drive west. That is the appeal for a lot of buyers: newer, low-maintenance living in town, with beach days whenever they want them.
- I'm vacationing on Fort Myers Beach. Can you show me homes in Estero while I'm here?
- Yes, and it's one of my favorite ways to work. I'm based on the island, so we can meet where you're staying, tour homes in Estero in an afternoon, and compare them side by side with the beach. If you head home before you find the one, I'll keep sending matches and do live video walkthroughs until you do.
- Do you sell homes in Estero, or only on the beach?
- I sell in Estero too. Fort Myers Beach is my home base and most of my business, but I list and sell homes across Southwest Florida, and every listing gets the same pricing work, marketing and personal negotiating no matter where it is.
